The following information was gathered from a wonderful resource book known as the Handbook of Celtic Astrology by Helena Paterson. Although it isn't known for sure whether or not the Celts ever followed an astrological practice, they did associate certain aspects of the year with sacred trees and animals. The Druids of ancient Britain did have a type of zodiacal "wheel" in which the Moon, or Lunar cycles, were the main focus as opposed to Westernized astrology which focuses on the Sun. The Moon and zodiacal references characterize the Great Mother/Creator Ceridwen and Her son Taliesin - symbolizing regeneration and the Sun. Here you will see, based on ancient lore, practices and beliefs, how the Celtic world combines with the Greco-Roman astrological signs and Here below, we see the Celtic astrological wheel which depicts the change of the season, degrees and symbology unique to the Celtic world.

The Celtic astrological signs, symbology and times of the year are similar to the astrology we are already familiar. The Celtic zodiac merely enhances that of the Western zodiac. Below are signs and brief trait descriptions. The first table shows the aspect or sign and dates on the wheel of the year. The second table shows the tree sign for that time and those born at that time. The traits table shows characteristics in general for the sign/symbol, characteristics for those born in the first two weeks (New Moon) and characteristics for those born in the last two weeks (Full Moon) in that time period:

Circle of Being The Circles of Creation (Circle of Being)

In the Druidic teaching ways, there are three circles of existence. This was passed on from a set of writings known as the Barddas. Abred is all physical life and that which lies below it. Good and evil exist on this plane, not as adversaries, but as equals. It is the choice of the physical being of humanity as to which he or she chooses to follow. That in itself provides for personal responsibility and retribution. The next circle is Gwynfyd. This is the spiritual realm, or that of "perfection". Our lives are lived in constant motion and pilgrimage to achieve a higher level of being. This too is part of the Druidic faith in reincarnation and eventual. spiritual, immortality. Finally, the area known as Ceugant, or the plane of the All. Here this plane is exclusively occupied by the All and connected together with the rest of existence. It cannot be achieved by other beings as the All is everything and nothing and already is. Below is another figure which correlates to the Celtic astrology wheel:
